Halle Berry has clapped back at ex-husband David Justice after hearing his comments on why he divorced her.

The former MLB star was a guest on the ‘All the Smoke’ podcast last week and revealed he split with the actress because she did not perform traditional house duties such as cooking and cleaning, plus he felt she wasn’t the type of mother he wanted for his kids.

Justice also claimed that Berry was the one who proposed, asking him to marry her after they had dated for five months. He said he went through with it because he didn’t want her to feel bad.

“At that time, as a young guy, she don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem like motherly,” he explained.

“We honestly probably could have made it if I knew about therapy,” he added. “If we knew about therapy, we probably could have made it.

Halle Berry celebrated her 59th birthday this Thursday, also taking to X to share a photo of herself wearing a bikini in bed with current partner Van Hunt.

“Phew…! cooking, cleaning and mothering,” she wrote as the caption in an apparent dig at her former husband.

She also shared a slide to Instagram featuring the same caption, with one of her photos showing an envelope with the word “MOM.”

Halle married David in 1993; they finalized their divorce four years later. They went on to have success in their respective careers, with the actress starring in several big-screen roles and winning multiple awards.

Justice went on to win two World Series and is in the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame.
