The harrowing 911 audio from the emergency call to Diane Keaton’s residence has been made public following the actress’s passing at age 79.
The Hollywood legend died in California after reportedly experiencing a “sudden” deterioration in her health. Diane’s cause of death remains undisclosed. The ‘Annie Hall’ star was transported from her Los Angeles-area residence by ambulance on Saturday and was subsequently pronounced dead, with the 911 audio to the fire department indicating there was a “person down.”
Celebrity tributes have been flooding in on social media for the Oscar-winning actress from stars including Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The 911 recording, which was secured by TMZ, captured someone declaring, “Rescue 19, person down,” reports the Mirror US. The dispatcher then provided Diane’s address.
While Diane’s cause of death remains undetermined, a close friend of the actress informed People Magazine, “She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her. It was so unexpected, especially for someone with such strength and spirit.”

In the wake of Diane’s death, Robert De Niro, who collaborated with Diane on multiple occasions, issued a statement saying, “I am very sad to hear of Diane’s passing. I was very fond of her, and the news of her leaving us has taken me totally by surprise. I was not expecting her to leave us. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.”
Bette Midler, who starred in The First Wives Club with Diane, said, “The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died. I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me. She was hilarious, a complete original, and completely without guile or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star. What you saw was who she was … oh, la, lala!”
Leonardo DiCaprio, who played Diane’s nephew in Marvin’s Room, wrote on Instagram that Diane was “one of a kind. Brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself.”
He added, “She will be deeply missed.”

Goldie Hawn, who starred in The First Wives Club with Diane, posted on Instagram, “Diane, we aren’t ready to lose you. You’ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination.
“How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to ‘shut up’ honey. There was, and will be, no one like you.”
Throughout her illustrious career, Diane appeared in countless movies, including Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club, and The Godfather. She regularly worked alongside Woody Allen, appearing in eight of his productions between 1972 and 1993.
Diane experienced several prominent relationships, including romances with Al Pacino, Warren Beatty, and Woody Allen. Nevertheless, she remained unmarried throughout her life.
During her 50s, Diane welcomed two adopted children, Dexter and Duke, whom she brought up as a single mother.
