DWTS Fans Worry Andy Richter Will Drop Dead On Live TV
Andy Richter kept viewers in stitches for years as talk show host Conan O’Brien’s sidekick. He continued working closely with Conan after Late Night with Conan O’Brien ended. Andy launched a podcast in 2019 and briefly starred in a sitcom on Fox.
But viewers get to see him in a whole new light on DWTS. He’s as funny as ever, but showed a vulnerable side during his Dedication Night dance with his daughter. While Andy Richter puts his heart into all the dances, he’s always at the bottom of the leaderboard. Despite his low scores, the comedian is still in the competition.

Some fans were angry that Andy was saved and Scott Hoying went home instead last week. But there’s a more pressing concern for some viewers – Andy Richter’s health. The comedian suffered a stroke in 2009 at his home in Burbank, California. His health has improved, but his age and weight make fans worry he’ll drop dead of a heart attack on live TV.
He Responds To Fears
Andy Richter continues to put every effort into his dances. He was asked about his health during an interview with TV Insider. The comedian said he had “no idea” that fans were worried he’d die on live TV.
“That was poetic — not medical,” Andy Richter joked about his previous comment that his heart was opening up since being on DWTS. “I’m not that out of shape,” he added.
He did, however, admit that he initially thought the dance competition would be too much for him and he’d have to quit. “Now, I had to admit all this physical activity has made me feel better about myself,” he said.
Emma Slater Reacts To Claims He Wants To Leave Show
Another rumor going around on social media is that Andy Richter wants to be voted off. The claims started because of his shocked reaction when another contestant is eliminated over him. But his partner, Emma Slater, shut down the speculation on social media.

One fan begged her to “debunk” the rumor that the comedian wants to leave the ABC show. Emma replied, “Ok. Debunked.” She added that Andy Richter asks fans to vote for him every week without her asking him to.
Andy Richter’s time on the show might come to an end during Halloween Week, or fans might save him again. Let us know in the comments if it worries you that he might have a heart attack on live TV.
