Kai Trump isn’t just preparing for her college golf debut at the University of Miami in 2025- she’s also making her voice count off the course.
At 18, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump is carving her path, showing talent in athletics and passion for a cause close to her heart: women’s sports.
With a verbal commitment to the Hurricanes already under her belt, Kai mentioned earlier this year the value of girls and women in athletics.
Her message, shared on social media during National Girls and Women in Sports Day, cut through the noise.
“Sports give girls confidence, strength, and leadership skills for life,” she wrote. “I’m grateful to have strong women who inspire me, and I know how important it is to support the next generation of female athletes.” It wasn’t a generic post. It sounded like someone who’s lived it.
Backing The Next Generation
Kai’s not just speaking from the sidelines. She’s been training for years, supported by her family and playing on top-tier courses, a privilege she openly acknowledges.
In August, she announced her commitment to the University of Miami on Instagram, where she credited her parents, Vanessa and Don Trump Jr., her coaches, and “Grandpa”- President Trump- for their support and resources. She also gave a heartfelt nod to her “Mormor” (Swedish for grandmother), thanking her for always believing in her.

Her words didn’t sound like a formality. They reflected someone aware of what it takes to get to this level and who’s not afraid to show gratitude. “I’m super excited to be a Cane and represent the University of Miami. Gooo Canes,” she wrote, adding a touch of excitement and personality to the milestone.
But it’s her steady support for women’s sports that stands out just as much as her golf swing. At a time when women’s athletics are gaining more attention and facing new challenges, Kai’s public support adds to a growing chorus of young athletes pushing for progress. She’s using her platform not for noise, but for clarity.
As she steps into college competition next year, all eyes will be on how she performs. But even before teeing off in NCAA play, Kai Trump has already made something clear- she’s here to compete, and she’s here to speak up.
