The WNBA and WNBPA agreed on an extension, but with nearly half of the extended period gone, there were no positive signs. However, the wait could be over soon, as a new report indicates a shift in the WNBA’s perspective and offer, which could result in a substantial pay raise for WNBA rookies, including AR5 and CC.

Angel Reese And Caitlin Clark To Receive Significant Salary Raise

The WNBPA rejected old proposals that demanded improvements in revenue sharing and commercial terms in the CBA. Napheesa Collier also gave Clark’s example, demanding more for players in the league.

According to a report from Athletic, the WNBPA has proposed that players receive approximately 30 per cent of the total league and team revenue. The Athletic added that the WNBA is currently proposing a system where a portion of league revenue would be shareable, with half of that portion going to players.

It would lead to a massive surge in players’ salaries, where rookies like Clark are receiving paychecks of around $119,000 from the league. It will also nearly double the average salary, increasing it from just over $100,000 to more than $500,000.

The proposal seems to be in line for the WNBPA’s acceptance, as fans hope to see the end of the CBA Saga. As for Reese and Clark, they are currently sweating it out for Team USA at training camp.

USA Basketball shared a video featuring three future superstars of the USA national team: Bueckers, Reese, and Clark, who were playing a full-court game and taking shots alternately. The sync and chemistry were evident on the floor as the movements and screens set were just like a game.

Although the final team has yet to be announced, many believe that the high school class of 2020 will make the cut, and even a few will take on a starter role for the national side.
