Season 29 Coaches Already Set

Season 28 of The Voice declared a winner this month. Fans won’t have to wait long for another season. Season 29 was reportedly filmed at the same time as the previous season. The show returns to NBC in early 2026, but with some striking changes.

Instead of having four coaches, only three chairs will turn for contestants. The network already secured the returns of Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend for the “Battle of Champions” season.

With Season 29 ready to go, producers are reportedly looking for a way to mark the show’s milestone 30th season. According to insiders, the network wants to bring back four of its most popular coaches.

The Voice Looking To Back Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani & Adam Levine

Blake Shelton and Adam Levine were the original coaches on The Voice. The Maroon 5 frontman left the show in 2019 after 16 seasons. He returned for Season 27 and is back for Season 29. Blake Shelton left in 2023 after 23 seasons.

He met his future wife, Gwen Stefani, on The Voice back in 2014. The No Doubt singer is among the show’s rotating coaches. Her last season was Season 26. NBC is reportedly pursuing all three to return for Season 30. The network would also love to see Kelly Clarkson return for the milestone season, but her busy schedule could make it impossible.

Gwen Stefani reunites with No Doubt for a residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, in early 2026, but could possibly return if Season 30 starts filming later in the year. Blake Shelton, on the other hand, might be harder to get. After jumping ship, he teamed up with Taylor Sheridan for a show on CBS. But the future of The Road is still up in the air.

“The producers are trying to lock in a deal to get Blake and Adam back together, they’ve wanted that for years and think 30 is an opportune time to make it happen,” a source spilled to The U.S. Sun.

The insider added, “The biggest challenge is getting Blake and Gwen back at all, it’s most likely going to cost the show a fortune to make that happen.”

Fans Predict Season 30 Coaches

The source told The Sun that “nothing official yet” regarding the coaches for Season 30. Getting Blake Shelton back would bring in a lot of viewers. Fans of The Voice took to social media to predict which former judges might return for Season 30.

“If John [Legend] doesn’t have another tour, I’d like to think he’ll be back next fall. He hasn’t been doing back to back seasons lately but he’s had tours and other commitments.”
