Fans Have Seen Jelly Roll’s Career Really Take Off In Recent Years

Jelly Roll, born Jason Bradley DeFord, started his music career in the early 2000s. He later rose to prominence in the 2020s, with singles like “Son of a Sinner” and “Need a Favor.”

Since then, Jelly Roll has had a decorated career, winning at the CMT Music Awards and CMA Awards. He has also established himself as a television personality, appearing on Tulsa KingAmerican Idol, and Fire Country.

In another recent milestone, back in October, Jelly Roll made a surprise appearance at the Grand Ole Opry during Craig Morgan’s 15th anniversary as a member. The two even performed “Almost Home” together as a duet.

However, Jelly Roll would later be the one getting a big surprise. Around this time, Jelly Roll would make an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. During the moment, the podcaster showed a clip of Jelly Roll on stage, talking about his past incarceration and being inspired by Morgan.

As the podcast continued, however, Jelly Roll was then shown a clip of Morgan congratulating him on how far he has come. The video continued, with Morgan even giving DeFord an invitation to become a member of the Opry, even saying, “welcome to the family.”

It was this act that had left Jelly Roll in tears, holding his head in his hands, later asking Rogan for a hug. The artist shared, “Hey Joe, that’s like… it don’t get no bigger in country music, bubba. That’s as big as it gets, yo. F—ing Grand Ole Opry, dawg. Dude, I used to buy tickets to go there.”

The moment was later shared in a joint post on Instagram. Jelly Roll himself wrote, “I don’t even know what to say right now, y’all. They invited me to be a member of the Opry. CRAIG MORGAN INVITED ME TO BE A MEMBER OF THE OPRY!!!!”

 

“I’m honored beyond words, and I can’t stop pinching myself. To everyone at the Opry, y’all are like family to me. To Craig Morgan, no matter how many times I say it I’ll never be able to tell you enough how much this has all meant to me. I love you, Joe Rogan.”

The Opry’s official Instagram account also responded to the moment, noting, “We love ya, Jelly! Welcome to the family.” Morgan himself also wrote, “Couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. Welcome home, @jellyroll615.”
