As the curtain closes on The Voice Season 28, Michael Bublé is taking a bow on one a whirlwind chapter. From meaningful pop-ins with the Pope to leading a dynamite team of Artists, Bublé told NBC Insider that life has been “a trip” lately.

No one can deny that Bublé is a multi-tasking icon. While duking it out against his fellow Season 28 Coaches Reba McEntire, Snoop Dog, and eventual champion Niall Horan, Bublé was still pinching himself over brushing shoulders with Pope Leo XIV during his December 2025 performance at the Vatican’s Concert With the Poor event. Not only did Bublé get the chance to sing “L.O.V.E.” along with the Pope, but he also invited Voice host Carson Daly along for the ride. “Standing in the Vatican with my family, meeting the Pope, and performing for such beautiful souls is something I will carry with me forever,” Bublé wrote on Instagram afterwards.

Considering Bublé was back on the set of The Voice within days, to say that it’s been an exciting time for the singer is an understatement.
Michael Bublé says his “life is a trip” after meeting Pope Leo XIV days before The Voice finale
“My life is a trip,” Bublé told NBC Insider amid Season 28’s action-packed Live Finale. “I mean, a week ago I was standing there with the Pope, and tonight, I’m with Uncle Snoop and Reba now.”
While mingling with Pope Leo XIV was certainly a career-making moment for Bublé, The Voice Coach was also so excited to see what his Team Bublé Artists brought to the stage ahead of Season 28’s thrilling conclusion. While Team Niall’s Aiden Ross was crowned the winner of Season 28, Bublé gave Horan a run for his money with his frontrunners Max Chambers and Jazz McKenzie.
During the Finale, Bublé got the chance to perform alongside Chambers and McKenzie, telling NBC Insider that the songs he chose for his Artists were going to be “emotional” for him.
Bublé and 14-year-old Chambers had the audience mesmerized with their duet of “Blue Christmas” during the second night of The Voice’s Season 28 Live Finale. Later in the night, Bublé and McKenzie performed an upbeat duet of “Jingle Bell Rock” that had the entire Coaches panel bopping their heads.

While chatting about his strategy for choosing songs for his Artists, Bublé said that he likes selecting songs that can be tweaked to be brought to new life. For example, he trusted that McKenzie could tackle Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds Take a Look at Me Now” with panache. After delivering a dynamite rendition, Bublé commended McKenzie for making the track her own.
“We could sort of turn it into almost this Motown-esque thing that we could give it energy that really allowed Jazz to be Jazz,” Bublé explained, pivoting to another highly-awaited performance during the Live Finale: the Coaches’ performance.
“I’m so excited, I will be getting off with Journey,” Bublé told NBC Insider. “I love Journey, and I love those songs.”
