Greg Biffle’s wife sent final text message on doomed flight.
Seven people, including former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, were killed on Thursday. A plane crashed at the Statesville Regional Airport on Thursday, and the news only got worse with each passing hour.
Greg and his wife, Cristina, along with their son, Ryder, and Greg’s daughter, Emma, were among the victims. Dennis Dutton, Jack Dutton, and Craig Wadsworth were also killed. The fiery aftermath showed just how devastating the crash was.
Released footage from the area showed the plane sliding across the tarmac on fire. YouTube personality Garrett Mitchell said the family was flying down to Florida to visit him. “We are devastated. I’m so sorry to share this,” Mitchell said in a social media post.
Cristina Grossu Biffle’s mother, Cathy, spoke to PEOPLE. She spoke about the last thing she heard from her daughter. She texted her, “We’re in trouble,” before dying alongside Greg Biffle. Cathy said she’s “devastated” and “brokenhearted.”
The crash killed seven people in total.

Biffle’s final social media post showed the type of man he truly was. He had just wrapped up a series he called the 12 Days of Biffmas. On day one, he gave away a stack of cash. Biffle just finished the series earlier this week in grand fashion.
He gave away even more cash and his beloved C4 drag Corvette. He revved the engine and drove into his driveway in a video showcasing the prize. Biffle was much more than his sport.
The NASCAR legend was also instrumental in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. America certainly lost a true patriot with his d3ath.
