The NFC North title could be decided between the Packers and Bears on Saturday. Things were made even harder for Green Bay as the visiting team.

It is a disturbingly cold night inside Soldier Field. The visiting team was most certainly feeling every bit of it on their sidelines.

Green Bay’s sideline heaters malfunctioned and stopped working. But Chicago’s heaters continued to work normally. Additionally, the Packers’ bench was ineffective for their offensive line as well.


Erin Andrews gave the update while discussing Jordan Love, who left after a brutal hit. “It’s cold over here, especially because the heaters aren’t working. And the bench for the offensive line isn’t working,” Andrews reported.

She then asked Tom Brady whether the Bears should be required to turn off their heaters to level the playing field. “I think if it happens on one side, it’s got to go to the other side,” Brady said.

The Green Bay Packers can clinch a playoff spot in Week 16 if they win. It would also move Green Bay into first place in the NFC North. Green Bay is currently seventh in the playoff picture.

Chicago is fielding a top-10 scoring offense for the first time since that 2018 season. The Bears could secure their first playoff berth in a half-decade if they win. If they lose, not all hope is lost.

The Bears have a 78% chance to make the playoffs, according to the NFL’s Next Gen Stats.
