The NASCAR world is in mourning over the loss of Greg Biffle.

Authorities in North Carolina have confirmed fatalities after a business jet owned by him 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩ed on Thursday. The Cessna C550 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩ed on the tarmac of the Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina. It occurred around 10:20 a.m. ET while attempting to land on the tarmac.

Biffle’s family owned the plane, and there are “multiple fatalities.” It remains unclear if Biffle was onboard at the time of the 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩 . However, it is increasingly appearing that he was especially since he has not spoken out.

Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich broke down flight-tracking data and FAA records for the Cessna C550. Flight-tracking data shows a very short flight path. The aircraft climbed briefly before making a quick turnaround. Unfortunately, it 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩ed during that emergency landing attempt on the runway.

Panovich used tracking data to illustrate how brief the flight was. He stated Greg Biffle’s plane had some control and possibly clipped some trees. According to him, that pointed to engine trouble.

Biffle was married to Nicole Lunders from 2007 until 2016. That had one child in 2010. In 2020, Biffle’s fiancé, Cristina Grossu, gave birth to a son. They were later married in the Bahamas in 2023.

Aside from his career, he was known to help others. His aircraft has helped respond to multiple natural disasters.
