Thanksgiving was full of highs and lows for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. On Thursday, the Chiefs fell 31-28 to the Dallas Cowboys.
Mahomes threw four TD passes and made history – however, KC couldn’t overcome costly holds and pass interference calls. Having already announced devastating news for Mahomes, the Chiefs dropped to 6-6, landing in ninth place.
The loss stings, but for the three-time Super Bowl champ, the holiday wasn’t all about football. He spent the day surrounded by family in Texas, creating memories that went beyond wins and losses. His wife, Brittany Mahomes, even shared a heartfelt note on Instagram.
“Getting to spend Thanksgiving with all our family in TX this year is so special,” she wrote, sharing a photo of a table full of holiday plates.
Patrick and Brittany, along with their three kids, Sterling Skye, Bronze, and Golden Raye, celebrated the holiday in Tyler, Texas, their hometown roots shining through. While a win would’ve made the trip prettier, the Mahomeses made the most of the day.

Kansas City’s playoff footing is legit starting to wobble, and Thanksgiving didn’t help steady the ship.
And even with Patrick Mahomes dealing heaters, KC kept bumping into the same brick walls: penalties, missed chances, and a defense that couldn’t lock the door. It left the Chiefs chasing the game and the season at the same time, a dangerous combo with December arriving fast.
Per postgame remarks, Mahomes didn’t dodge the reality check.
“We gotta execute at a higher level… penalties killed some drives. You just gotta win every game, and hope that’s enough.”
Now the road tightens. KC faces the Chargers, Titans, Broncos, and Raiders in a stretch that’ll decide their season. One slip, and the Andy Reid playoff era might be staring at its rare second miss.
