Animal welfare activists are condemning actress, reality star, and mogul Kim Kardashian after her most recent move. Animal Welfare Activists Condemn Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian has faced an extensive amount of scrutiny over the years. The reality star and mother of four has tried to do her best in co-parenting alongside ex-husband Kanye West. His behavior is often erratic and aloof, so Kim claims that she tries to protect their kids. At the same time, she can go overboard and indulge them, which she has been called out for. Their tantrums have also been well-documented, so that is also a hot topic. Now, Kim is in the hot seat once again, this time from animal welfare activists, but what has she done wrong?

For the holidays, the KarJenner clan goes all out, especially Kim, who has a pianist wake her children all December by playing Christmas music. This can be considered excessive, but it is a tradition, just like her family’s lavish, annual holiday party. As part of the celebration, the presents are also over the top, and 2025 was no exception. Kim gave a Pomeranian pup to each of her kids, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. She was not alone, as her sister, Khloe Kardashian, gave her son and daughter, Tatum and True, a black Lab.

The four pups were shared on social media via Kim Kardashian, and even though they were adorable, not everyone was thrilled with this. A common statement has been that animals are not gifts and should not be given freely as if they were or are toys. Moreover, if they are to be gifted, the shelters are overflowing. Therefore, adopting overshopping is the best suggestion. Since Kim did not choose that route, animal activists were livid. They slammed the mogul for being so irresponsible and reckless with the pups.

Serious Backlash

Although Hidden Hills, California resident Kim Kardashian felt that she was doing something special for her kids, that was not the case. The Kardashians fans and followers laid into her, feeling it was selfish. Now, had she adopted the pups from a shelter, many would likely be singing a different tune. Yet, there was also the concern of who would ultimately take care of the dogs and if they would fall by the wayside:

Those kids aren’t going to take care of those dogs and does she have enough time on her schedule to take care of them? You know they going to get taken care by somebody else. Pets are long life commitments. And family members
Poor dogs. I hate how they treat animals as accessories or toys
Pets are not accessories or cute gifts (barring certain circumstances). Hate to see it!

Some wondered if this was a sick joke, but it is reality, and the new batch joins Sushi, Saké, and Soba/Soy Sauce. They are Kim’s older Pomeranians, so that brings the total of pups to seven. Time will tell if these babies are loved or just for show.
