It has been a long time since Caitlin Clark last stepped on the hardwood. Owing to her lingering groin injury, Clark could only play 13 games this season. However, that hasn’t stopped her from staying involved in various activities throughout the offseason.

The Indiana Fever star took part in the Annika Pro-Am and left a heartfelt message for the fans. And now, as fans heavily anticipate Clark’s return, they will finally have a chance to see her back on the court.

Making her Team USA debut, the Fever star will soon be joining the training camp. But even before she stepped onto the court, Clark had impressed Sue Bird significantly.

Sue Bird Heaps Praise on Caitlin Clark

Clark is always known for her engaging nature. Even when she wasn’t playing for the Fever, the 23-year-old cheered her team from the sidelines. And this is something that immediately caught the attention of Sue Bird.

With the Team USA training camp about to begin, Bird, who is the managing director of the US Women’s National basketball team, could not stop praising the Fever star. She pointed out that Clark stayed fully engaged with the team and watched every game from courtside.

“The first thing that came to mind, and this comes to the whole Indiana Fever, they did a great job engaging in their season…, thought what was most impressive was the way she stayed engaged… that speaks to her maturity,” said Bird.

Surely, with a star-studded Team USA camp all set to begin, Bird will hope for a similar involvement from the face of the WNBA. However, this is not the first time that Clark has received praise. Adam Silver recently spoke highly of her popularity.

Silver recently had a bit of tension with the WNBA athletes. As the rising demands for a better revenue-sharing system have disrupted the CBA negotiations, Silver’s comments did not sit well with the players.

However, despite the differences, the NBA commissioner recently spoke highly of Clark. Reflecting on her popularity, Silver said, “To see the popularity of Caitlin (Clark), to see the Fever exploding in popularity — not just here in Indianapolis, Indiana, but globally — it’s remarkable.”

Thus, with Caitlin Clark gaining some significant traction, fans are now eager to see how she fares in the upcoming days.
