Dancing With the Stars Season 34 runner-up Alix Earle got emotional after finally breaking her silence over her painful split from NFL star Braxton Berrios.

The 24-year-old social media star, who recently competed on theĀ ABCĀ competition series and placed second, took to TikTok over the weekend to speak out about the split in a video where she opened up about what led to their dramatic split after two years together.

TheĀ news of their relationship coming to an end just one week after she missed out on the Mirrorball Trophy, which went to Robert Irwin instead.

ā€œBraxton and I are no longer together,ā€ she said. ā€œWe have been doing long distance since, basically, June, and we haven’t got to see each other that often. It’s just been really difficult for me.ā€

Earle notably moved in with Barrios in Miami,Ā Florida, in the Spring, but he later signed with theĀ Houston Texans, which forced him to relocate.

She then shared that she became ā€œreally motivatedā€ to live in Los Angeles while competing onĀ Dancing with the Stars, which caused her to consider moving there permanently and added additional strife caused by distance.

ā€œI think that was a scary thing for me to realize because it meant us not being in the same place. A part of me also really wants to be focusing on myself right now,ā€ she added. ā€œI just feel like I can’t be what Braxton needs.ā€

She also shared that it was ā€œdifficultā€ because he was her ā€œbest friendā€ and it felt as if they were just on ā€œtwo different paths,ā€ before she told fans to stop being ā€œmeanā€ to him.

She also insisted that the breakup had nothing to do with Berrios missing her Dancing With the Stars performances due to hisĀ NFLĀ schedule.

ā€œI think I ultimately just wanted to go with trusting my feelings,ā€ she said. ā€œThis has just been really hard…it’s not drama. It’s not because he did anything wrong or I did anything wrong. It just didn’t really feel like it was working out, in the moment.ā€

Her video comes after Berrios seemingly tried to make light of the split in anĀ InstagramĀ post earlier in the week, when he posted a series of photos of himself and captioned it, ā€œWhat did I miss?ā€

However, he faced negative comments about not being in LA for Earle’s DWTS run, with one person writing ā€œEvery single performance of alixs,ā€ forcing him to respond and write, ā€œI would’ve been at every one if I could’ve, sadly I can’t travel like that in-season.ā€
