DWTS Judge Devastated Over Anticipated Death
Grief doesn’t just happen after a loved one dies. The sadness leading up to their death can be just as difficult as once they’re gone. A DWTS judge opened up about a relatable feeling of anticipatory grief.

Carrie Ann Inaba has been a judge on the ABC dance competition since the beginning. Her role isn’t always easy, especially this last season when she faced major criticism for her scoring. As a public figure, the DWTS judge shares a lot about her personal life.
She took to social media earlier this week with a stark realization. In an emotional post, she got vulnerable about her elderly pup’s eventual passing. Our beloved pets are by our side constantly, aging along with us. However, they age a lot faster, and as every pet owner knows deep down, the time will eventually come when our beloved companions are no longer there.
Carrie Ann Inaba has a Chow Chow/Chihuahua/Pug mix named Peanut among her rescue dogs. She posted on social media that her beloved pup’s health has taken a turn for the worse. While Peanut is still with her for now, the DWTS judge knows the time is coming to an end soon. She shared a video of her processing the impending loss through artwork at her home in Los Angeles, California, along with this caption:
I’m devastated. Exhausted. Broken hearted. Raw. I needed a release or I would shatter. Art has always been my way to cope with my intense emotions. I brought in the canvas I have been wanting to paint last night. And I just said, I’m need to paint out my emotions

Carrie Ann Inaba Shares Update
Carrie Ann Inaba used art to help express her feelings of anticipatory grief. It seemed to help a lot. She returned to social media with an update on her mental state.
She turned 58 on January 5. “I know yesterday I shared a raw emotional post about anticipatory grief. And I still carry that today but I also am feeling so much gratitude that this little Queen has chosen to celebrate my birthday with me,” she wrote on a post that included a sweet photo with Peanut.
While their time together is shortening, the DWTS judge wants to enjoy the time they have left. Tell us in the comments if you can relate to Carrie Ann Inaba’s struggle.
