The surge in popularity turned her into a mainstream WNBA media figure. This year, she might be even more famous. The Indiana Fever guard stated transgender women who were assigned male at birth should be barred from competing in women’s sports.
Sophie Cunningham described keeping transgender athletes out of female leagues as “common sense.” Her remarks have polarized the WNBA, triggering protests, player backlash, and the suspension of a team co-owner.

Pictures of Sophie Cunningham working out at the gym in an orange “Make America Great Again” shirt and white hip-hugging shorts have gone viral. The images show the Indiana Fever player posing confidently while holding a phone. In one picture, she stares into the camera while holding the phone.
The second photo shows her looking at the phone while casually lifting her orange MAGA shirt.
“The Beautiful Sophie Cunningham At The Gym Keeping In Shape. 💕,” the post read.
Despite how real it looks, the picture was created entirely by artificial intelligence.

Right now on X, formerly Twitter, hundreds, if not thousands, of people are being fooled by two pictures. Both of them show a fake Sophie Cunningham in the gym, showing off her body.
The real Cunningham has no issues showing off her body and has done so on many occasions. However, this is not one of those times.
