Earlier this week, the journalist shared a video of herself reporting inside the Fox 2 studios on TikTok.
The clip captured Kellie, dressed in a pink sundress, high heels, and her blonde hair flowing straight down, speaking on camera in front of a giant video wall.
“I spend everyday reflecting why I left my career to start over,” the TV star wrote over the clip.
“I just found this video. Watching it now, I feel like I’m watching someone else. I look so happy… and I probably was in the moment, but a few minutes later I was hurting again.
“My mental health had been declining for a long time. Take care of yourself,” she added.
Kellie announced her departure from the station earlier this month in a lengthy Instagram post.
“After 10 incredible years at FOX 2, it’s time for me to say goodbye,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself smiling in the studio.
She noted that the station had been her “home,” and that she dabbled in nearly every role in the newsroom, “anchoring, sports, traffic, weather, reporting, I tried it all.”
“Leaving isn’t an easy decision, but I knew it was time. To be candid, I have some healing to do,” Kellie admitted, adding that she plans to “slow down, reconnect with myself, and learn to appreciate a quieter life.”
The news anchor received an outpouring of support in the comments from loyal viewers and colleagues.
“We’ll miss you on the news every morning, but credit to you for knowing what’s best for yourself in stepping away,” one fan wrote.
“Our household will miss seeing you on Fox 2! Good luck on the next chapter!” another said.

“We’re going to miss you so much! Loved being able to work with you the last few months,” fellow Fox anchor Ronia Shamona added.
Good Day Detroit host Maurielle Lue also reacted with several red heart emojis.
Alongside her gig at Fox 2, Kellie also had a four-month stint as the in-game host for the Michigan Panthers in 2024, according to her LinkedIn.
She graduated from Michigan State University in May 2014, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
Her Instagram bio now reads, “Retired TV newscaster, healing and figuring out the next chapter.”
