Donald Trššžmp really does not like theĀ NFL’s new kickoff rule.

In 2024, Trššžmp took to his Truth Social platform to voice his displeasure with the new NFL kickoff rules, saying, The newĀ kickoff rules mark the ā€˜beginning of the end’ for the NFL.

The NFL changed its kickoff rules to enhance player safety while also encouraging more kick returns. One significant change was moving the kicking team’s players to the opposing team’s 40-yard line, with only the kicker starting at his team’s 35-yard line.

Just this month, Trššžmp was back at it again, criticizing the rule. AfterĀ referring to it as a ā€œsissyā€ playĀ in September, the President wrote on Truth Social, ā€œI HATE WATCHING THE NFL’S NEW KICK OFF RULE.ā€

Now he is finally receiving some backlash over his words.

Kansas City Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub is going viral after he did not mince words when asked for his reaction to President Donald Trššžmp’s recent criticism of the NFL’s dynamic kickoff rule.

Toub made it clear on Thursday that he doesn’t care what the president thinks about the play.

ā€œHe doesn’t even know what he’s looking at. He has no idea what’s going on with the kickoff rule,ā€Ā Toub said, referencing Donald Trššžmp.

Toub said,Ā ā€œHe doesn’t even know what he’s looking at. He has no idea what’s going on. Take that for what it’s worth. And I hope he hears it.ā€

These comments come amid the heated debate over the league’s attempt to make kickoffs safer and more dynamic.

According toĀ reportingĀ from The Washington Post, kickoff return rates soared to 76.9% through Week 2 of 2025, up from just 32.8% the year before.
