Caitlin Clark might have just dropped the biggest revelation of her young career.
Clark has been sidelined since mid-July with a nagging groin injury. She recently joined Sue Bird’s “Bird’s Eye View” podcast.
Between talking about her rookie season and the leap from college to the main league, Clark casually hinted at a future many didn’t expect.
“Honestly, like, I might go back at one point in my life and coach college basketball,” Clark said on Sue Bird’s Podcast. It was a short line, but one that sparked plenty of conversation.
Clark has always been known for her vision and leadership. Even while injured, she hasn’t stopped directing traffic.
During the All-Star Game weekend in July, cameras caught her guiding teammates from the bench. Her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, even poked fun by posting a story on Instagram with the caption, “Coach CC.” Turns out he might not have been far off.

Caitlin Clark Balancing The Present And The Future
For now, Clark has more pressing matters than career plans.
Her second season has been a rollercoaster. In just 13 games, she’s averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds.
Those numbers prove her impact when healthy, but injuries have disrupted her rhythm. The Fever have played the last nine games without her, and she’s missed 18 total this season.

Indiana needs Clark back as soon as possible. The Fever sit third in the Eastern Conference and own the fifth-best record in the league.
They’re still in the playoff mix, but dropped two straight heading into Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky. Making things more challenging, Indiana just lost two guards to season-ending injuries. Caitlin Clark’s return could decide how far the team goes.
Still, her comments on Bird’s podcast offered a rare glimpse into her long-term thinking.
Clark spent years building her name at Iowa, where her leadership and competitive fire defined her game. Coaching could allow her to bring that same energy back to college basketball.
Fans may want to see her light up the WNBA for years before worrying about the sidelines, but the thought of Clark in a coach’s chair feels real. She has the mind, the respect, and the desire.
For now, though, all eyes are on when “Coach CC” gets cleared to return as player Clark.
