One of Dancing with the Stars’ most recent runner-ups has announced her split, one week after losing during the Season 34 finale.

The hit ABC dancing competition show finished out its current season on November 25. Alix Earle and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy battled against Robert Irwin and Witney Carson for DWTS’ coveted Mirrorball Trophy. However, Irwin and Carson ended up victorious.

Now, Earle has been dealt another harsh blow. She and her boyfriend, Houston Texans athlete Braxton Berrios, have split after two years of dating, multiple sources have confirmed.



“Majority of their relationship was long-distance and it was hard for them to navigate,” one insider told Us Weekly. “They mutually agreed on the split.”

Earle and Chmerkovskiy finished in second place, after Irwin and Carson, during the November 25 finale. Despite Berrios, 30, not being in attendance due to his NFL obligations, he sent a video message voicing his support of his now-ex.

“I’ve watched you pour everything into this since the moment it has started, and I think it shows,” Berrios said in a prerecorded video. “Good luck. Have fun, babe.”

Earle and Berrios were first seen together in public in May 2023, soon after Berrios split from Sophia Culpo, who accused him of cheating.

Berrios denied his ex’s allegations, claiming on his Instagram Story in June 2023 that things “weren’t working out” with them and their split “had nothing to do with anybody else.”

That September, Earle opened up about the situation on the Call Her Daddy podcast, saying that Berrios and Culpo, 28, “were not together” when they began their romance.

She recalled that she was “bawling her eyes out to my friends” while reading comments about the cheating rumors.

Earle denied that she and Berrios were an item on several occasions before ultimately confirming their relationship in November 2023.

“To the person who taught me to love wholeheartedly .. happy 1 year You have become so much more than my best friend and partner,” she wrote on Instagram of their November 2024 anniversary.

She added, “I didn’t know I was capable of this type of love and I feel like I have truly found my other half! I love you.”

Almost three months later, Earle spoke to Us Weekly about the seriousness of her relationship with Berrios.

“We always talk about our future,” she said in February. “Right now, we’re so focused on our careers that we live in the moment and don’t rush into anything. I think that’s the cool thing about being with Braxton, [he] is not scared of any type of future.”

Earle continued to joke about a potential engagement in January, but insisted it wasn’t on her and her boyfriend’s radar at the time.

“I think we are just kind of letting each other live right now, and we’ll see where we end up,” she explained.

When it came time for Earle to make her Dancing With the Stars debut in September, Berrios did not attend due to his schedule as a wide receiver for the Houston Texans. However, Earle mentioned that he was supporting her.

“Braxton has been so supportive, but I didn’t show him the routine or anything,” she told Us Weekly after the Season 34 premiere. “I wanted to keep it a surprise.”
