Karmelo Anthony’s family knows exactly what they are going to do with the more than $500,000 in donations that have been given.

The money has ballooned as a result of an alleged murd3r that occurred at a track meet in Frisco, Texas, on April 2. The victim was 17-year-old Austin Metcalf of Memorial High School, who died in a deadly st@bbing.

The suspect, 17-year-old Karmelo of Centennial High School, was just released from jail on bond after lawyers reduced his bail from $1 million.

More than $514,000 has been donated to the “Help Karmelo Anthony Official Fund” on the crowd-sourcing site GiveSendGo.com.

None of the bail money came from the donations.

GiveSendGo co-founder Jacob Wells provided an update on how the Anthony family plans to use this money.

He has made it clear that the vast majority of the funds will be used to cover Karmelo’s legal fees and provide security for the family.

“They’ve been very clear that the vast bulk of this money is going to be used for Karmelo’s legal defense,” Wells told Fox News Digital.

“They’ve indicated that some of it will be used to provide them some security, some much-needed security. And then also, a secure location for them to live. They were renting before, and they’re continuing to rent. So it’s like, okay, $3,000 a month for the next year, year and a half.”

Karmelo Anthony’s defense attorney, Mike Howard, made it abundantly clear that the teen suspect and his family could move to a gated community due to safety concerns.

“Given that Karmelo has no prior criminal history and given that this young man has not been in any sort of trouble before, $1 million is not necessary,” Howard said via Fox4.

“This family needs to be able to survive. There’s been a tremendous amount of pressure. I think at this point, living in a gated community, given everything, the safety of their younger children is very warranted. Security details and criminal defense are not cheap.”

Earlier this month, Kala Hayes, the mother of Karmelo Anthony, finally had to speak up for her family.

Since being arrested and released, there has been a ton of misinformation spread throughout social media that has subjected the family to even more attacks.

“In the wake of this tragic incident, our family has been under attack. Whatever you think happened between Karmelo and the Metcalf boy — my three other children, my husband, and I — didn’t do anything to deserve to be threatened, harassed, and lied about,” Hays said.

Among the things she said, Kala Hayes revealed: “My 13-year-old daughter is afraid to sleep in her own bedroom because she’s fearful of what might happen to her.”

“The lies and false accusations that have been said about us have been overwhelming, and the lies put our family in danger,” Hays added.
