Caitlin Clark’s viral photo has fans questioning what they’re seeing.
Caitlin Clark has become one of the most recognizable athletes in sports. Naturally, that means the internet keeps finding increasingly bizarre ways to put her name into the algorithm.
A photo circulating online has now caught attention for a completely different reason. It appears to show the Indiana Fever star walking through a parking lot in a black sports bra and extremely tight shorts.
“Caitlyn Clark [sic] has buns like this?” the caption reads.

“I don’t think so,” one user wrote.
Another noted, “She doesn’t have legs like that.”
The image looks convincing at first glance. However, anyone wondering whether Clark actually stepped outside dressed this way will be disappointed.
The picture is AI-generated, and it circulated online as part of a series featuring Clark in the same outfit. Reality Tea reported on the image in June, while theFashionSpot also identified it as AI-created.

The original social media post appeared on June 8 and showed the supposed Clark carrying shopping bags, a large black handbag and a drink. The presentation was designed to look like a candid street photograph.
That helped the image travel quickly because it lacked the polished appearance people usually associate with generated artwork. It looked more like a celebrity paparazzi shot.
The problem becomes clearer when the image itself gets a closer inspection. The proportions, body shape and overall presentation do not provide a reliable representation of Clark.
This is hardly the first time artificial imagery has complicated Clark’s enormous online presence. In May, the Indiana Fever also used an AI-assisted image that altered Clark’s hand. Clark herself noticed the mistake and jokingly called attention to her “new hand.”
That incident helped demonstrate how easily AI-generated or AI-assisted sports imagery can slip into ordinary social-media feeds.
Clark’s Real 2026 Season Has Given Fans Plenty To Discuss Instead

Meanwhile, Clark has plenty of legitimate headlines attached to her name this season.
The Fever guard recently produced one of her best performances of 2026, scoring 37 points with 10 assists and eight three-pointers against the Chicago Sky on August 23. Indiana won 113-90 and strengthened its playoff position.
She has also continued making headlines away from the court. Earlier this month, a separate AI controversy involving Clark and teammate Sophie Cunningham produced another fake image that fact-checkers confirmed was AI-generated.
So, while the viral “buns” photo may look like another celebrity snapshot, it belongs firmly in the growing collection of AI-generated Clark content.
