If this is it, the AJ Brown-Eagles era ended in a whimper.
AJ Brown’s actions after the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers suggest that his time with the NFC East club is over.
Unfortunately for AJ Brown and Eagles fans, his most memorable part of Sunday’s Wild Card Round game was his heated sideline exchange with head coach Nick Sirianni. Brown had just three catches for 25 yards.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens. But Brown’s post-game gesture indicates that he’s not expecting to play in Philly again.
According to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com, Brown “went around to a bunch of teammates in the locker room, hugged them, and bounced.”
Per Pro Football Reference, AJ Brown caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 regular-season games. He was widely mentioned in trade rumors throughout the season.
The Eagles held on to him for their Super Bowl title defense. They came up well short in a dejecting 23-19 loss to San Francisco. At this time, it’d already be a surprise if he came back to Philly in 2026.
