NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar turned heads at Dodger Stadium Tuesday night- not just for his tribute to Jackie Robinson but also for what it revealed about his health.
The six-time NBA champion arrived in his own No. 42 Dodgers jersey, joining the crowd in honoring Robinson on his historic day. But as touching as the moment was, it also left many fans visibly emotional.
A video making the rounds on social media showed Abdul-Jabbar in a blue wheelchair, pushed by an assistant as he made his way through the stadium. While fans applauded his continued public presence, seeing one of basketball’s all-time greats needing help to move around clearly struck a nerve.

At 77, Abdul-Jabbar continues to inspire with his grace and dignity. But the visual of him in a wheelchair triggered a concern among longtime admirers. Many remember him playing deep into his 40s with unmatched endurance. Seeing him now, still towering but slowed, caught fans off guard.
“Is he OK?” one fan wrote on X.
Another added, “Sometimes it’s tough to see your idols get older.”
Comments flooded in throughout the evening, many echoing the same sentiment: respect for the man and sadness for his condition.
Abdul-Jabbar underwent hip surgery in 2023 after a fall at a concert in Los Angeles. He fractured his hip during the incident and has kept a relatively low profile since. While there haven’t been any negative updates regarding his recovery, Tuesday’s footage confirmed he’s still working his way back.
Despite the concern, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar delivered a moving speech outside the stadium, reflecting on Jackie Robinson’s impact on sports and his life.
“My mom didn’t know much about the game,” he said. “But because of all the attention that Jackie got, we started listening to the games on the radio when I was about 2 years old. And it was very important to me that Jackie’s team won.”
The Dodgers topped off the night with a 6–2 win over the Rockies. Still, for many, the game’s most memorable moment came before the first pitch- when a basketball icon showed up to honor a legend and remind us that even giants slow down with time.
VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”
Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts
During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.
The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.
This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.
One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.
He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.
He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.
