Suni Lee: Olympic gold medal gymnast sidelined by kidney condition | CNN

The 2025 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit will feature American gymnast Suni Lee. She was officially unveiled as a rookie model this week.

Lee, 21, rose to prominence during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Not only did she win silver in the team final, she captured a gold medal in the individual all-around. She was then named Sportswoman of the Year because of her incredible achievements on the biggest stage. This past summer, Lee returned to the spotlight to win her second Olympic gold medal. This time around she won it in the team final.

Although the Olympics are in the rearview mirror, Lee clearly isn’t ready to slow down.

On Thursday morning, SI Swimsuit shared a sneak peek at Lee’s rookie shoot. It didn’t take long for this one photo to go viral on social media.

“In case you were wondering…. yes, we’re still totally flipping out over @sunisalee’s SI Swimsuit debut,” SI Swimsuit’s caption read. “At just 21 years old, Suni has already achieved a career’s worth of accomplishments in the gym and beyond but she’s not done yet because she’s just added SI Swimsuit to the list!”

Unsurprisingly, Lee’s supporters are raving about this stunning picture.

“I love this side shot of Suni,” one person commented.

“What a beauty,” another person wrote.

“Suni is a goddess,” an Instagram user said.

“So beautiful,” a fourth person replied.
