The sports world suffered a devastating loss on Tuesday.

Christina Chambers has left a wave of shock and heartbreak following her d3ath. The longtime sports reporter was one of two people found d3ad inside a home in Hoover on Tuesday. Police are describing it as a murd3r-suicide.

Christina and her husband were found d3ad at around 9 a.m. A family member called the police, according to WBRC. Amid the tragedy was a young child inside the home. Police state that an unharmed 3-year-old was also found in the house.

The report says that Christina Chambers and her husband were found with gunshot wounds.

Chambers worked at WBRC full-time from 2015 to 2021. She would continue her work as a freelancer.

Reporter d3aths have become too common lately. In August, veteran Washington sports reporter Rick Snider passed away. He suffered a stroke. It was just earlier this year when Super Bowl reporter Adan Manzano was found unresponsive. He was found d3ad in his hotel room.

In 2024, a pair of longtime NFL reporters passed away. Veteran New Orleans sports reporter Ed Daniels died from a heart attack. Daniels’ longtime producer, Mark D3ane, died in a fatal car accident. That happened one day after attending Daniels’ funeral.

The investigation is in its early stages. However, police said it appears these d3aths are the result of a murd3r-suicide.

Before her tragic end, Chambers joined WBRC Fox 6 in November 2015. She was loved and appreciated for her work. Around that time, she had already accumulated five years of experience. She covered the SEC, ACC, C-USA, and high school sports throughout Alabama and Georgia.

Prior to Fox 6, Chambers served as a sports reporter and anchor at WAKA in Montgomery. She was named Advisor of the Year by the Alabama Scholastic Press Association in 2024.

Christina Chambers was working for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama at the time of her d3ath. Sports were her passion, but she will be remembered as a devoted mother.

It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.

Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.

On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.

Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
