Sophie Cunningham certainly put her foot in her mouth.

The Indiana Fever guard made headlines this week when she unashamedly criticized a few American cities following news of the WNBA’s expansion plans.

The WNBA is set to welcome three new franchises over the next five years: Cleveland will join in 2028, Detroit in ’29, and Philadelphia in ’30.

When asked about it, Cunningham took a savage shot at Cleveland and Detroit in particular.

“You want to listen to your players, too. Like, where do they want to play?” Cunningham said Tuesday.

“Where are they going to get excited to play and draw fans?… I don’t know how excited people are to be going to Detroit or [Cleveland].”

Cleveland Cavaliers players Donovan Mitchell and Tristan Thompson naturally took issue with Cunningham’s comments and fired back at the Fever guard on social media.

That wasn’t all.

On Tuesday, one Detroit athlete, Detroit Lions offensive tackle Dan Skipper, also clapped back at Cunningham.

Taking to X, Skipper declared that Detroit is a great place to play.

“You ever been there? Pretty good place to play, well not for you now,” Skipper wrote.

The Indiana Fever’s 74-59 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night was not just any ordinary win.

Without superstar Caitlin Clark, the 8-8 Fever claimed their first WNBA title in franchise history by winning the 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final over Napheesa Collier and the 14-2 Lynx.

Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham stepped up in a huge way off the bench, putting up 13 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes. She went 3-for-5 from three with a plus-minus of plus-18.

The Commissioner’s Cup final is worth more than a title and a cool trophy.

A shared prize pool of $500,000 provides a major financial incentive for the winning team members.

Why does Angel Reese wear one legging attire?

Angel Reese wears only one legging as a part of her one-court attire and the fans have grown curious about it. Many people speculated that it was part of a superstition that Reese followed, however, that is not the case. The LSU star has herself revealed the reason for the unique dressing choice and it may surprise a lot of people.

I had surgery two years back on my shin. I have a rod in my leg… I cover the scar on one, and then the two players that I admire, Te’a Cooper and A’ja Wilson, also wear it, too. So it is swag. But I have used it to cover my scar,” said Angel Reese. She revealed that she had surgery on her leg and had a scar on it. She wears the leggings to hide that scar and at the same time as a swag fashion accessory.
